Letter from LeNell French

What a great pleasure it was to host you and Borage at Canyon Ridge last Thursday. The students and staff still haven't stopped talking about your adventures and your presentation. We were all enthralled with your experiences - faculty wishing that they dared and students dreaming that they could. This was the very best type of learning. Thank you so much for spending the time with us. We are truly grateful. Susan Sullivan - Leander ISD, Texas

Let me say once more how fantastic your program was for our kids. They have been talking about it nonstop ever since. You held their attention for far longer than anything I have seen in the past. And the way they responded to you was most impressive----you do have a way to win over your audience. Thanks again for the day. You have made what will be one of the absolute highlights of my career, too.

I hope the rest of your loop through Texas was as successful as your stop here!

Thanks again,

LaNell French, Librarian

You were a huge hit at St. Richards, with the kids and the staff and anyone else that seemed to wander along. Mrs. Funk has a little "Thank You" you gift that she sent home with Bella, to give to you. They were so excited about your visit that by the time we made it back to the house there was a message on the machine from Mrs. Funk (Sharon) that sounded almost giddy.

Anyways, you're are truly a great story teller. The Borage story and the sleeping in the driveway story were well told and held all those little peoples attention. Borage is an extremely special animal!!! We loved Borage.

Letter from Katie McMillin

What a GREAT combo!!!!!!! She was the best we've had this year, and we have had a couple really good ones. She is a great speaker AND teacher!!! I know she won the admiration of our teaching staff. SO MUCH information for the kids and ideas for the teachers. Like tracking the race next year and figuring miles per hour and all the math and creative writing opportunities for ALL grade levels in elementary school. WOW!

The kids were pretty much riveted on everything she talked about for over an hour, which says ALOT for a diverse age group from Kindergarten to Sixth Graders. Plus her web site with follow up activities, ideas for kids and teachers, putting on and talking about all the equipment and how cold it is and how the snow helps and how this year's race didn't have much, if any, snow, and on and on and on.

THANKS so much for hooking us up to her and talking to Connie about it way back! The only glitch in the works was that GOOGLE directions on MapQuest sent her WAY OUT OF THE WAY to Walesboro and she got lost. Had to call the school twice to redirect. BUT WAS IT EVER WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!
